Kaluno is a calm, simple space for conversation. No accounts, no pressure, no history — just rooms you can join, talk in, and leave whenever you like. This page explains how everything works.
Your nickname is how others see you while you're here. You can change it anytime by returning to the room list.
You’ll see two lists:
Select any room to join it. If the room has a PIN, you’ll be asked to enter it first.
You can create your own room at any time. You choose:
Your room appears instantly for everyone.
Rooms can have a PIN if the creator chooses to set one. PINs are a light layer of privacy — they’re not meant to be strong security, just a simple way to keep a room a little more intentional.
If you enter the wrong PIN when joining a room, you can simply try again. There’s no lockout or penalty.
You can set a PIN when creating a room on both mobile and desktop. Changing or removing a PIN is currently available on the desktop version only.
You can choose how you appear:
You can change your avatar anytime.
Tap or click the People button to see who’s here. You’ll see nicknames and avatars (if enabled).
Blocking hides someone’s messages from your view. They may still see your messages for now. Blocking is personal — it only affects what you see on your device.
Reporting is available on the desktop version. When you report someone, the system notes it and updates their profile for moderation purposes.
If a user receives multiple reports in a short time, their avatar may be temporarily disabled. This helps reduce visibility without removing them from the room or blocking their ability to chat.
Kaluno does not keep long‑term history. You only see messages that arrive while you’re here. When you leave, your messages disappear from your device.
Some rooms are marked as sensitive. These may involve emotional or personal topics. Join only if you feel comfortable.
Kaluno works on both mobile and desktop. The experience is slightly different to fit each screen, but everything works the same:
Some actions, like changing or removing a room PIN, are currently available on the desktop version only.
Kaluno does not use accounts. Your nickname, avatar, and PINs are stored only on your device. Rooms exist only while people are in them.
